Requirements

  • You may not begin working on your project before 11:00AM EDT on Saturday, October 3, 2020. No work may be completed before this time.
  • You must submit your project at mais-hacks-2020.devpost.com before 11:00 AM EDT on Sunday, October 4, 2020 to be eligible to present your project. Make sure you leave enough time to complete your submission before 11:00 AM EDT!
  • Plagiarism is not acceptable and teams with plagiarized work will be disqualified.
  • Project submissions must include all design assets and source code created at MAIS Hacks.
  • Projects may not be updated after the submission deadline.
  • Teams can have up to 4 members of registered hackers who must be present at the event.

This prize will go the Hack that absolutely shocks us. A Hack that is so absurd, it cannot be of this earth. How funny, unique, and baffling this project are will be the metrics to choosing a winner.

A Hack will win this prize if it is targeted at solving a problem in our Education Sector. Any aspect of school can be tackled - scheduling, homework help, testing software, etc.

Most Feel Good Hack

A Hack will win this prize if it makes us feel all warm and fuzzy inside. This Hack must be warm, gentle, sweet, among other lovey dovey adjectives. You have to win over not our minds, but our hearts.

Best AI for Commerce (Stonks)

This prize will go to the Hack best suited for the business and finacial system. Show us a project that would have the likes of Deloitte, Morgan Stanley, and the Bank of American come knocking. Or just make something related to stonks, we know y'all love those.

50$ Amazon gift card for each team member.

Best AI Hack for Art

This prize will go to the best project that relates to art. Whether it focuses on music, visual arts, novels, television shows, etc. does not matter. Any hack in the field of the arts will be considered for this prize.

Most Aesthetic/ Best Design

This prize will go to the Hack that is the most polished, has the best UI, and is most visually ready for deployment. The winner of this prize will have the most visually striking project of all.

A Hack will win this prize if it targets Health issues. Any project that you can see being deployed at a Hospital or recommended by a doctor fits the bill.

    Artificial Intelligence ( __ / 7 ) Is AI relevant to the implementation of the project? Have the hackers thought of the societal impacts of this kind of AI project?
  • Technical difficulty
    Technical difficulty ( __ / 5 ) How technically complex is the project?
  • Originality
    Originality ( __ / 5 ) Is the project new or unique?
  • Design
    Design ( __ / 5 ) Is the project easy to use and polished?
  • Presentation Format
    Teams will have a 5 minute presentation. 3 minutes for showcases what they worked on and the potential social impact of their project. The allow 2 minutes for questions. Judging will take place on Discord.
